There are so many classes today that focus on yoga postures but there are many other aspects of yoga which can bring us peace. Delve into the eight-fold path of yoga to find contentment in all aspects of life- even the painful and difficult parts. Build the capacity to feel even greater levels of joy and learn to bring yoga off your mat and into the rest of your life.
A classical Hath Yoga practice
This traditional asana practice combines breath-work, relaxation, chanting and movement for a complete yoga experience. Through a slow paced practice, we use the body as a tool for mindfulness, with an emphasis on stress reduction to create health and well-being in both the body and the mind. I specialize in classes for pain management, recovery, curvy yoga and mindfulness.
Mindfulness is paying attention to what is happening in the present moment and being aware of the world around us and the world inside of us, without judgement. It is learning to recognize our own behaviors and patterns that lead us to dissatisfaction, reactivity, and impulsive behavior. It is a method of “waking up” and changing our relationship to the difficulties in our lives so that we can experience greater joy and more meaning on a day-to-day basis. Mindfulness workshops explore the inner workings of our minds and emotions, give us tools to deal with the challenges of life, and help us uncover the inherent joy that already exists inside of each and every one of us.
